Week 49

This week was fun. We had a lot of stuff that went on, most of it was spent teaching and knocking. Our teaching pool is growing pretty good too, which is good, makes time go a lot faster when we have things going on.

I am getting more used to being in the city, and the biking is getting easier. Besides that, nothing super exciting happened this week. So sorry for the short email.

Week 48: Zion's Camp

This week was a good one! Life has been pretty busy. The highlight of the week was probably an event called Zion's Camp. It is a church owned camping place with an obstacle course and a bunch of stuff. Every year we go as a mission. On Wednesday, I got to go. Half of the mission was there. It was a lot of fun to see a bunch of people again. It started off as a fairly normal zone conference but halfway through we changed and went and did the obstacle course. there was a wall you had to climb over, some log things, rope swings and a bunch of cool stuff. It was fun. Then, after that we had testimony. A lot of missionaries are going home here soon so it was cool to get to hear them bear their testimonies before they go home.

We are also getting a good ish teaching pool built now which is nice. We are starting to get busier and busier. I like being busy. Makes me feel like I am fulfilling my purpose more.

Week 47: From the Ground Up

This week was a good one. We are figuring out how to get around the area, which is good, and the teaching pool is growing slowly. The week flew by. It sure is weird being in the city. I am definitely not sued to it yet. There are apartments everywhere which is kinda fun. Most of our days have been filled with tracting and trying to keep ourselves busy while we get things going.

This week we also had another Why I Believe Fireside. That was good as always. There was a lot of great testimony shared and there was a good turnout too. We ended up getting a ride back to our house from the mission president too which was cool.

1) My companion forgot his name tag one day so we improvised.
2) Some random street

Week 46: In the Thick of it All

This week has been nuts. I am now in my missions namesake own, Tacoma. It is so much different from everywhere else I have been. There is nothing but endless roads of houses and apartment complexes, where before I've been used to long dirt driveways and forest everywhere. Me and my companion are the first elders here in over a year which means our phone's teaching records are completely blank. We are basically opening an area, which is pretty cool. We are also on bike, which is kinda fun, but our area goes down to the waterfront on one side and it gets extremely hilly, which is less fun. We are finding the roads that are less steep and figuring out the best way to go. It is a lot of trial and error. We share the area with a set of sisters as well. They have been helpful trying to give us some area advice.

Yesterday my companion had a baptism in his old area so he went back and I stayed with the Allenmore elders for the day. They were also having a baptism so we went around and were visiting a lot of their investigators trying to get them to come to it. It was a lot of fun. Besides that, it has been a lot of tracting lately trying to build up a teaching pool of sorts.
